SSIC Division 20 – Manufacture of chemicals and chemical products
Companies in this division change raw materials into chemicals by chemical processes, and make products from these chemicals.
The division covers basic chemicals, industrial gases, fertilisers, plastics and synthetic rubber in primary forms, and man-made fibres. It also covers chemical products for businesses and homes, such as pesticides, paints, inks, soap, detergents, perfumes, cosmetics, food additives, adhesives and biofuels.
