SSIC Sub-class 36000 – Collection, purification and distribution of water

Companies in this sub-class collect, purify and distribute water to households, industry and businesses. Water may come from rain, rivers, lakes, ground water or the sea.

The work includes rainwater harvesting, desalination, treatment of water for supply or for industry, and distribution through mains. Bottled water, wastewater treatment and long-distance water pipelines are classified elsewhere.
