SSIC Sub-class 35200 – Manufacture of gas; distribution of gaseous fuels through mains; processing of natural gas

Companies in this sub-class make gas, or carry and sell natural or synthetic gas through mains to homes, industry and businesses. This includes onshore gas receiving facilities, processing and regasification of natural gas, gas storage, and gas made from coal, farm by-products or waste.

It also covers the blending and purification of gases to make fuel with a set heat value. This work may need a licence from the Energy Market Authority. Wholesale of gas fuels, retail sale of LPG and long-distance gas pipelines are classified elsewhere.
