SSIC Sub-class 35103 – Transmission, distribution and sale of electricity

Companies in this sub-class carry electricity from power plants to users through transmission and distribution networks, or sell electricity to households, industry and businesses. This includes electricity retailers, the rental of distribution networks, and exchanges for electric power that do not use intermediaries.

The sub-class also covers energy storage, such as battery, pumped storage and compressed air facilities, and charging stations for electric vehicles and electronic devices. This work may need a licence from the Energy Market Authority. Electricity brokers are classified elsewhere.
